The possibilities for detox baths are endless. I was pretty skeptical at first, but it has quickly become one of my favorite weekly routines because it really works. The first 20 minutes toxins and minerals are drawn out through the skin. During the next 15-20 minutes important minerals are reabsorbed. That’s the main reason I don’t do these too often because you can get dehyrated or lose electrolytes if you’re not getting enough magnesium for example through your diet. I make sure I am hydrated and and take a large bottle of water with me. As the bath is filling I try to do a quick dry brushing session which is another detox technique that removes dead skin cells and increases circulation and lymphatic drainage with a stiff dry brush. Here’s a basic recipe but feel free to experiment with green tea, bentonite clay, other herbs and essential oils.
1/3 cup epsom salt
1/3 cup himalayan sea salt
1/3 cup baking soda
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tsp ground ginger, powder or tea if fresh not available
One organic lemon squeezed and tossed in
5 drops organic lavender essential oil
