Coconut oil swishing is one of my favorite ways to detox and whiten my teeth at the same time. Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic remedy for oral health and involves the use of pure oils as agents for pulling bacteria, fungus, and other harmful organisms out of the mouth, teeth, gums, and throat. Start with a spoonful or 2 of organic virgin cold pressed coconut oil, sesame is also popular, and swish just like mouthwash for a few minutes, work your way up to half an hour. When you’ve swished as long as you can, spit it all out through your teeth and make sure not to swallow. Brush thoroughly before you eat or drink and try it first thing in the morning everyday.

  • prevents bad breath
  • prevents cavities, gingivitis, yellowing, and thrush
  • strengthens gums, teeth, and jaws
  • may also help with TMJ, dry mouth, and bleeding gums
